If you’ve never heard of task cards you might be wondering exactly what they are!
Task cards are basically flash cards taken to the next level. Task cards are intentionally targeted activities with specific instructions or “tasks” for your student or child to complete.
While flashcards generally ask students to memorize, task cards as students to complete an activity. For example, students might be asked to build an item that they see on the task card, find a beginning letter, or play a game.
Task cards switch the approach away from rote memorization of flash cards into engagement that leads to deeper understanding and retention.
