Common Core Printables

If the words “Common Core” make your shoulders tense up, you’re not alone — here’s the plain-English version.

What it is

A simple list of the skills kids work on at each grade in math and reading — written by teachers, state education leaders, and governors to help kids feel ready for the real world (and eventually college).

What it’s not

A curriculum you have to buy or march through page by page. It’s really a map of what comes next, in an order that builds on itself.

Going from a standard to a real skill

  1. 1Find the skill. Pick the standard your child is working on (like K.CC.A.3 — writing numbers 0–20).
  2. 2Practice it. Use the matching printables until it actually feels easy, not just done.
  3. 3Move up. Once it clicks, move to the next standard. Each one builds on the last.

Pick a grade and subject to get started

Not sure which grade to pick? Go with what your child is actually working on, not the number on their classroom door. The standards build on each other, so it’s worth getting each skill solid before moving to the next.

It’s all sorted by Common Core code, so the right printable stays easy to find as your kiddo grows.
