About this resource
Build, name, and explore 13 two-dimensional shapes with hands-on play dough cards your PreK and kindergarten kids will actually reach for. One set of color cards pairs each shape with real-world picture clues — a triangle shown as a sailboat, a hanger, and a slice of pizza — so kids connect shapes to the world around them. A second set adds a sentence strip naming the shape, building shape vocabulary and word recognition right alongside the play.
Kids roll and press dough along each shape as they go, strengthening fine motor skills and shape recognition at once. Print in full color for a laminated center, or use the black-and-white versions for hands-on building and ink-friendly take-home practice.
A natural fit for math centers, morning bins, occupational therapy, and small-group time in preschool, pre-K, and kindergarten. Just add play dough and scissors.
