About this resource

Turn a paper plate and a child's handprint into a bright orange Lorax with this printable craft for preschool, pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade. Kids paint the plate orange, trace their hand to make the famous yellow mustache, and add eyebrows, eyes, and a pom-pom nose.

Every step has a real photo, and a supply list with picture cues shows exactly what to gather, so even non-readers can follow along. The traced handprint makes each Lorax one of a kind.

A fun follow-up to reading The Lorax, and a natural fit for Read Across America, Earth Day, and art centers.
